We Really Care

Our Care Centre is well established and maintains the highest standards of care possible.  Our manager has many years of experience in running a care home for the elderly.

Our professional staff and ward attendants are dedicated, compassionate to the needs and comfort of the residents.

Amberglen has a 44-bed care centre, which is registered and offers four levels of care depending on the needs of the resident. It also has respite rooms for short-term care.   Two of the four bedroom wings for long term residents have an enclosed verandah and all these rooms are en-suite.

Our bedrooms are for individual accommodation, but we do have double en-suite rooms for couples.  All our rooms are large enough to allow for some personal furniture to make them more homely.

The residents can sit out in sunny courtyard gardens. They are also taken out for walks to enjoy the gardens, dam and scenery.

Residents are welcome to join in the main Village events whenever possible, if they so choose.

Ladies from the Amberglen Village run an active Care Centre Support Group, overseeing a knitting circle, card making & other activities for the more active residents.  Regular tea parties are held.

Well balanced & nutritional meals are provided by professional caterers.

Our clinic is based in the Care Centre.

Doctors in Howick will call on ill residents if requested.  We are contracted with a private ambulance service to convey any seriously ill patients to hospital.
